TRANS GRAND CANYON

Day Four - Tuesday

At 5:30 a.m. we packed up camp and headed for Bright Angel campground at the bottom of the canyon.

The day's work required 7 miles of hiking, though only a descent of 1,500 ft.  The day's events included frogs leaping, lizards sleeping, one snake slithering, and a beautiful winding trek through open and closed canyons, including one so narrow it is called The Box.

When we reached the bottom of the canyon, Phantom Ranch, we imbibed in the best lemonade ever.

One-hundred-and-ten degrees when the thunderstorm struck, the canyon quickly cooled down to a tolerable 85 degrees.  We set up camp and dried out.
